The last time I was in Cuxhaven was the CSD last year; much better weather. Being a Monday, as is usual in Germany, most museums are closed. Apart, it seems, some the Wrack- und Fischereimuseum. So, off to look at shipwrecks for a while.

So, we've arrived punctually in Cuxhaven and, waking from a short doze, I see it is pouring with rain. Into the local post office for stamps - a letter costs the same as a postcard now - and the young person behind the counter tells me they don't write letters any more since they have email, which is free.

I shall avoid the beach unless the weather improves - or I've seen the rest of the town - and seek out art.

Surprisingly punctual. My next train also appears to be on time.

A good thing that I brought a hoodie with me, the weather here in the north is cloudy and dull, slightly cooler at about 21°C.

A travel week, although I've had to postpone one trip out due to a spontaneous grillparty.

Today Cuxhaven. A bus to start, four minutes delay, then two trains. Changeover time of eleven minutes in Bremerhaven-Lehe. The first train was running nine minutes late, but we are now back on time.

Time to read, and drink coffee.
