Three points on Rust not having namespaces, 10 years after the first proper "domains as namespaces" proposal:

1. The egomaniacal posturing of the people in charge is absolutely bonkers, as well as the damage they have caused.

2. It's a failure of Rust's governance structure that these people have not been removed from any decision-making processes.

3. Shipping even the worst namespacing proposal back then would have been better than 10 years of inaction.

I wrote a few crates a while ago and was revisiting one of them (a cli tool) and noticed 4,667 downloads. I have a real hard time believing that those are real users. Is there automated bots that download #crates ?

I always like hearing "the crate is intentionally written with minimal dependencies..."
It disproves a lot those anti-Rust-because-so-many-crates people
