At the end of the summer of 2025, I took my bike to Copenhagen one more time. I had to head back there so I could finish a bike trip that I started the year before. Now it was time for the second part of the ride, from Copenhagen to Oslo by bike.

It felt like the conclusion of a movie when I finally rode my bike the final sixty-something kilometers from Moss to Oslo a month ago today.
It didn't feel real when I got to the Oslo City Hall and saw my girlfriend and a few friends waiting for me with racing flags. Still, I couldn’t be happier about it!
This trip was beyond fantastic, and I'm already planning what I can do next year.

I waited for years for this day to come, and it finally arrived on a Saturday morning. When I started thinking about cycling from Berlin to Oslo, all the way back in 2018, I always expected to feel something whenever I arrived in a new town.
But, as I cycled, I learned that crossing borders is when I feel more euphoric. Crossing from Sweden to Norway by bike was one of these moments.

The rain kept coming down for most of my 95 km bike ride between Uddevalla and Strömstad, which is why I didn't take as many film pictures as I had earlier in the trip.
It was also the hilliest bike ride ever on my Strava until that point. You can tell you enjoy riding a bike when a day like that doesn't depress you.

I was concerned about the lack of bike lanes on my way to Uddevalla when I left Gothenburg. My experience in Sweden was so positive until that point that I remember being a bit anxious before I left the city.
I was right, too, since I rode on roads where cars and trucks were common. Not ideal, but I had to find a way.

The bike ride from Varberg to Gothenburg was filled with some drama. Something bad only happened that one time, but I'm glad I didn't freak out and found a way out. I had to ride a third of the way on an axle because one of my pedals broke. It was shitty, but I survived.
I finally got to Gothenburg later than planned because of that, but it was great to be back there for the first time since 2013!

When I woke up in Halmstad, I realized that the weather had changed and I might have to cycle in the rain on the third day of cycling from Copenhagen to Oslo. There were moments that it was so cloudy that the sky and the sea merged into one.
Still, I cycled a bit more than 100 km and saw many interesting things along the way.

The route between Angelholm and Halmstad was one of the shortest of the whole trip. But it was, also, one of the most fun since I cycled through my favorite part of the Kattegattleden in southern Sweden.

I started my bike ride to Oslo on a Sunday morning. The weather was perfect, and it was amazing to cycle by the seaside and cross from Denmark to Sweden in a couple of hours.
Based on the amount of pictures from that day, I can easily say that I was beyond excited to be there.

A few weeks ago, I cycled from Copenhagen to Oslo, and I took one of my film cameras with me. I finally had some time to scan and edit them so I can start posting a different perspective on this trip.
The ones here are from what I would call my day zero. I took them when I got to Copenhagen from Berlin on Saturday. They are all from Copenhagen.

Yesterday I cycled the last kilometers from Moss to Oslo, and it felt like the end of a movie.
When I left Moss, the weather wasn't the best. But the bike ride kept me warm. There were hills, lakes and several people cycling in the morning.
When I got to the Oslo City Hall, my girlfriend and a couple of friends were waiting with racing flags, and I couldn’t be happier about it all! This trip was fantastic, I need a new adventure for the near future.

I have been waiting for today to arrive for a while now. Mostly because I crossed the border from Sweden to Norway, and I have never been this close to my destination!
But today started in Sweden, and the last ancient ruin I visited there was the Stenskeppet, also known as the Blomsholm Stone Ship, from the Iron Age.
A few kilometers later, I crossed to Norway on the Old Svinesund Bridge, and that felt euphoric in so many ways.
Tomorrow I reach Oslo!

Most of my ride today was under rain. Sometimes it was just a few drops, sometimes the opposite. It was also the hilliest bike ride ever on my Strava, but it was a great day!
I saw the Tanum Teleport from the road. And I stopped to check the Bronze Age Rock Carvings in Tanum that made my day!
Tonight I sleep in Strömstad, less than 30 km from Norway. Tomorrow I will arrive in a different country.

When I was leaving Gothenburg, I was a bit worried about the lack of bike lanes on my way to Uddevalla. And I was right because I mostly rode on roads with cars and trucks most of the time.
On my way north, I passed by Bohus Fortress, saw some fighter jets aside the road, and one of the craziest paths I have seen around a lake and a rock.
There were many more hills than I expected, but I managed to survive. Tomorrow, 90 km more on the way to my last stop in Sweden!

Today started with a talk with another cyclist heading to Gothenburg. He left from London, and it was great to hear his route and stories.
My route followed the Kattegattleden for the last time, and I will miss it as I go north. Furthermore, I had my first trip issue with a broken pedal that ruined 1/3 of the day, but I managed to find a way around it.
I reached Gothenburg a little later than expected, but it felt good to be back in town for the first time since 2013!

It was still raining outside when I started packing for my third day cycling. I prepared my things with that in mind but, to my surprise, no rain the entire day. But it was clearly overcast.
I took a long route to Explore Varberg a bit much so I could check out The Woman with the Handbag statue. And there were more things in town to take pictures, and I will check them out again tomorrow on my way to Gothenburg.
I think I’m close to 280 km cycled already. Let’s goooo!

Today was my first day cycling fully in Sweden. I crossed from Skåne to Halland, and these were 75 km of multiple scenery. As before, cycling by the seaside is fantastic, and it has been the highlight so far.
But today there were hills, some headwind and many places to take pictures.
Tomorrow morning I leave heading north, and I hope the weather doesn't change while i’m
on the road but let's see.
