Overview Vinton County is a notable rural county in Appalachian Ohio home to the Villages of Hamden, McArthur (county seat), Wilkesville, and Zaleski and along Routes 50, 32, 56, 93, 124, 160, 278, 324, 327, 328, 356, 671, 677, 683, and 689. Notable features of the county include the Moonville Tunnel and Vinton Furnace, with recreational areas including the Vinton Furnace and Zaleski State Forests as well as Lake Hope State Park, with Tar Hollow largely located to the west.
