CW: Ottawa convoy occupants and protests
The Ottawa occupiers are planning another occupation. To avoid the misery of last time while recognizing the right to protest, the following ideas might help:
1. Rapid functioning barriers to restrict traffic flow to residents and needed vehicles in the immediate vicinity of Parliament Hill and public buildings
2. A designated and adequately funded National Capital Police force administered through a federal agency and coordinated across orders of government
3. Facilities to make it easier for pedestrian protesters to access and gather on Parliament Hill - e.g. shuttle buses from satellite parking places and portable toilets
4. Strict enforcement of bylaws and regulations regarding loitering, parking, littering, noise, and associated matters - notably after 11:00 pm and overnight
The people of Ottawa have suffered enough and the long-term occupation of the national capital is intolerable
