About having an "up to date" mod on the PSP

Saw this post on Reddit and it got me thinking, the #PSP being as old as it is, and its #consolemods generally being quite old too, if the mod a console has is seemingly stable and the firmware is on 6.60/6.61, it should be as up to date as it needs to be, no? Unless I suppose the user wants to run some newer homebrew or plugin that demands a certain mod, though in such cases, I'd imagine the author of the mod will leave a warning, similar to what Vita homebrew devs usually do.

I can confirm the #badupdate exploit on the #xbox360 works well after a bit of weekend tinkering!

Playing certain games on actual hardware, such as the leaked GoldenEye 007 prototype or long since delisted Marble Blast Ultra, is a surreal experience I didn't expect to be having this week.

I'd definitely recommend checking this out if you have an Xbox 360 lying around, along with a large capacity USB drive and a healthy dose of patience.

Swapped my Dreamcast's PSU. Planning on doing a GDEMU install at some point, and while the stock PSU is perfectly good, it being a PAL unit means it doesn't like the 12V rail not being used. The capacitor trick in the stock PSU seems a bit dodge, so decided to replace it with the Robot_Retro unit.

I'm using a uGreen Nexode mini 30W as the AC-DC.

Finally getting around to a several year old project of restoring a spare Game Boy I have. I think I picked this up at a goodwill but it's been so long I don't remember. This shell was absolutely DISGUSTING but it's nice and clean now as best as I can get it.

I don't plan on retrobriting it because I want it to show off it's character when it's in working condition. Once I replace all the corroded battery contacts, I'll test it to see if it works. Thankfully, none of the corrosion seeped into the main boards at all so I have high hopes for it.

If it works, I'll get to work replacing the screen, and order some speaker and power mods to modernize it a bit. Unsure if I'm gonna go with a rechargeable battery or not sometime down the line.

Another console mod for 2023: IPS screen for the PSP and new a battery!
I had to get a new soldering iron to bridge the circled part but the result was worth it!
No more ghosting and great colours!
The battery works wonderfully and the PSP's interior is a work of art 😁

Surgery complete! Installed Gulikit Hall Effect Thumbsticks into my Steam Deck! It took about 20 minutes but probably would have taken 5 minutes if I hadn’t dropped one of the thumb stick retaining screws in the floor and has to search for it…
