Mastodon is only a decent community because we actively maintain it. If you see harassment, especially men targeting women, don't just scroll past. Call it out and report it. Let's keep the space clean. Take out the trash.

I haven’t posted on #facebook since last year when I shared a few updates of my time volunteering for the #Harris campaign, YET I recently received a notice that my account has been suspended for potential violations of #communitystandards. Hard not to lean into confirmation bias about the #Trump administration’s violation of #freespeech & #tech collusion.

I guess whoever has the most power, influence and popularity determines what the "standard" is, regardless of whether it's backed up by logic, reason and evidence?

Man erkennt darin sehr klare Richtungen, in welchen Bereichen Dinge explizit erlaubt sind. Gender-Themen trifft es in diesen Änderungen z.B. am deutlichsten.(Die Formulierungen scheinen mir direkt aus dem Englischen übersetzt und nicht landesspezifisch zu sein, aber gerne selber gegenchecken.) #Transparenz

My wife just posted a picture on Facebook of the carnage she made out of our kiwi tree, because there was a big spider in it.
When I tried to comment on it with a meme showing disaster girl saying "There was a spider, it is gone now", Facebook warned me that this content has been removed as violating community standards - and that I could delete it now to avoid potential account restrictions. -

To my knowledge nothing in their so called #CommunityStandards applies to my account.
And if something there may apply Facebook ain't telling me what.

A woman who is a friend from my college days posted a "funny" meme on Facebook about the work of two men only being a part time job. I tried to share with her the link to Paris Paloma's "Labor" song on YouTube and Facebook refused to let me, citing its "community standards". That's... telling.
