I found it! Had to look around a bit; it’s actually north of the Circle.
A very small street fair on Broadway #today, one block I believe. But there’s also the salesmen and food carts nearby, at the entrance to the Park.
EDIT: I bought a spider plant on the way home for $7 from that nice Hispanic lady on 9th. She said I should water it maybe once a week. I have a better pot for it.

The New York Coliseum on Columbus Circle. New York, New York. April 1965. The Coliseum closed in 1998 and was demolished in 2000. The site is now the home to Deutsche Bank Center (formerly Time Warner Center), a.k.a. One Columbus Circle.

The Gallery of Modern Art building at 2 Columbus Circle was much-derided when it was new. It was later the New York Cultural Center and sat empty for most of the 1970s. In 2005 it was given a new façade and now houses the Museum of Arts and Design.
