🆘 🇨🇴 Colombia is currently suffering not only the devastation of a major earthquake—with people racing against time to pull their loved ones alive from the rubble—but its precious forests are also being deliberately ravaged by arson. Individuals have already been caught setting fire to wooded areas. The entire country is burning. To make matters worse, Abelardo de La Espriella—widely regarded by Colombians as an illegitimate president—has ordered U.S.-backed airstrikes that have killed countless innocent farmers in the Catatumbo region. Meanwhile, in Salento, one of the country's most iconic tourist destinations and home to the world's tallest wax palms, Israeli "aid teams" have arrived. We already know where that leads—it is a classic neocolonial tactic, a pattern we are also witnessing in Argentina. International assistance from other nations is urgently needed.
