We’ve taken a First Look at the MHW‑3Bomber F74 Navigator, a grinder that has specialty coffee enthusiasts buzzing. With 74 mm titanium‑coated burrs, a 400 watt brushless motor, variable RPM control, and ultra‑low retention, it promises espresso‑level precision and pour‑over clarity at a surprisingly accessible price. Could this be the prosumer grinder that changes the game?

Manual coffee grinders have come a long way since the Porlex Mini days. Our Best Manual Grinders of 2025 guide is live on CoffeeGeek./com (sorry for the weird link), featuring compact travel grinders, espresso dial-in champs, and everyday workhorses.
Every grinder tested, reviewed, or owned by CoffeeGeek staff. Ready to see which made the cut? Visit our front page today to read all about it!

Dziedzictwo kultury - kawa zalewajka (eng: cheap grinded coffee just inside hot water, not filtered).

Checked out the 1Zpresso X‑Ultra and it is a top contender if you only want one grinder for everything from espresso to pour over.
Premium build, intuitive external dial, magnetic catch cup and foldaway handle, priced at about USD 160. Not perfect, since the catch cup can slip and the dial is a bit hard to read in dim light, but overall it is a high‑value grinder that delivers.
Visit CoffeeGeek/.com (sorry for the dulled link) to read it today!

Hola Fediverse. You know I love sharing with you my insider, deep dive, behind the scenes stuff about what goes on with coffee and espresso we test at CoffeeGeek. I spent two full days with the Mazzer Philos production unit grinder now, and here's my condensed notes from the last two days of testing.
Sidenote: when I see the Philos, it's as if coffee nerds kept showing Mazzer the Zerno Z1 and similar grinders from cottage industry makers, and Mazzer says "hold my beer".

A visual reminder that you can pour latte art in a traditional (drink of 3rds) cappuccino. Trying out some new glassware from Kruve, brewing and steaming with the Lelit Victoria.

There's been a delay in getting our Cuptimo Snapshot Review out, because I'm trying to coax a great cup out of one of the devices I chose to compare it to: the Ceado Hoop.
I love, and hate the Hoop. I just can't seem to consistently brew a great cup with it, BUT I've had some great cups of coffee from it, brewed by others.
Anyone out there have better luck with the Hoop?

I absolutely love these coffee measuring bowls. Extremely unique, and while they look like hammered iron (see 3rd photo), they are actually hard porcelain with an iron finish glaze. I know because I broke one by accident.
Don't ask me where to get them - the place I bought them from is no longer in biz sadly. But at least I have four. I use only two at a time, and have the other two in reserve... you know, in case I break them again.

Completely re-written and fully updated: our First Look at the Breville Bambino Plus espresso machine. It's longer than most full reviews. We cover the history of the machine, changes it has had, and its position in today's marketplace.

Not my best or most even roast, and a little darker than usual, but I found my usual time wasn’t dark enough so…

Oft… That was CLOSE!
Been really busy today with garden and forgot I was running low on coffee…
Imagine if I hadn’t just done the dishes and noticed…. And then started yesterday as “Normal”.

@coffeegeek that makes a lot of sense to me, but how do hand powered grinders do?

Brewing coffee with the all porcelain (including the filter) Bayreuth brewer. There's not many all porcelain brewers out there; I should write this one up more on CoffeeGeek, because it's pretty good!
Shot with a Fujifilm #X100T camera, same Tri-X film simulation, straight from the camera.

New Japanese "iron finish" ceramic measuring bowl for single dosing coffee. Shot with a Fujifilm #X100T camera using a custom film similation that mimics Kodak Tri-X.

So I don't do video. Especially shooting myself on video. I cringe.
But I have a really cool 30 minute interview with the PRESIDENT, GLOBAL BEVERAGES, for Breville, and we are talking about Lelit espresso machines, where they've been, and where they are going in 2024. I need to edit it a tad, and will get it on CoffeeGeek in a Blog post very soon.
So you'll see me and my greying hair, and double chin like, REAL SOON, geeking out on espresso tech.

If you saw my posts last night, I was agonizing over what "Feature Image" to use for our forthcoming Turin Legato Espresso machine first look.
I ended up re-shooting today for that, cleaning up the space a bit, and shooting the machine on a slight angle. Here's the photo I'm going to use (raw from camera currently) along with a couple of americano shots from the machine.

Massive 2 day photo session finally wrapped up in my home, with shoots for 3 machines, four how tos. Today I was doing some "filler" photos we missed yesterday and this morning.
And for some reason, my latte art game was on today (it's more off than on most days). Also, I feel the need to brag: that cappuccino has a solid inch of foam (it's harder to pour latte art with a lot of foam mixture).
Two shots from the Lelit Bianca series (raw, from camera).

I swear I’m getting better at this.
Gutamalan FSJM green beans from #NossaFamilia in Portland. Air roasted yesterday on an air frier tray in my oven for 12 minutes (preheated oven to 425F)
23 grams in, 58mm basket, 20 secs, 48 grams out (so a little fast).
But loooook. I managed a light roast!

Very happy to report our website traffic has grown about 20% since this time last year, and January was our most-visited month since 2016.
People STILL do like reading long form content about coffee and espresso!
Wait till they see the new website, launching on March 4.

New content is up at CoffeeGeek!
A How To Guide for the Modern Macchiato. What drink is that? It is the North American specialty coffee variant of the traditional macchiato!

Mmmm responsive elasticity. That's what I want to see.
(finishing off our templates for the new review section of the CoffeeGeek website for 2024)

Now... THIS is what you call a responsive design 😉
Best part is, with no server caching and optimizations done yet, the speedtest response for this page is 88. We should get it past 92 on the live site.

More in the How it started, how it's going series for an entirely new part of the CoffeeGeek Website.
We're building the interface, templates, function and look for a new Feature Guides section. Our first feature guide is the Best Budget Espresso Machines for 2024. Here's a look at two segments of the design, nearing finalization.

How it started... and how it's going.
The building of the new Features Guide layout for a new part of CoffeeGeek continues. Our first Feature Guide will be the Best Budget Espresso Machines for 2024. Still very much working on the layout. Here's a few screen caps, along with the original layout sketch I posted yesterday.
NB, the new Feature Guides section isn't just buying guides. It will also be very detailed how to guides on various subjects.

Instagram's algorithm hates the #CoffeeGeek account apparently.
Had some beers with a few local coffee friends this eve. One said "how come you never post to IG any longer". I'm like "dude, I post all the time there". He goes through his timeline, nothing, no posts from my account. Two others at the table (who both follow my IG) tried too - nothing.
Algorithms suck.
I think our IG is pretty good overall. Maybe I'm wrong.
