    So like, not for nothing, mind you, but I AM an embedded Linux engineer, so if any of you very large #CloudStruck corporations would like to fund future proofing your appliance hardware instead of running the largest desktop target vector OS on all your public facing and mission critical systems, I am around to talk.

    I very often find myself doing a ton of extra work to keep third parties out of user requests/responses and production app workflows—at least as much as is practically possible.

    It’s way easier to ask the CMS service for text at request time, and way easier for an app to block while waiting for an API response.

    I’ve been eyerolled many times for this.

    Days like today are why I do it. Plus third parties are hilariously slow and unreliable even when the entire world isn’t on fire.
