  1. I've been connected to a variety of educators since the late 2000s via on-line groups on different platforms. I met the #etmooc and #clmooc group in 2013. Many of those people are part of #DS106. I keep encouraging people involved in other tutor, mentor programs to connect the same way I have.

  2. In my monthly newsletter I pointed to a blog by #clmooc member @sheri42.bsky.social & to the DS106 Daily Create. Both share creative activities that could be used in #tutor #mentor & learning programs, as well as in schools & home. See the newsletter at tutormentorexchange.net/2025-newslet...

  4. To my #etmooc and #clmooc educator network. Are you familiar with the "Campaign for Grade-Level Reading"? They've been doing webinars every Tuesday for a couple of years on a range of topics related to education and student success. I watched one yesterday about building the tutoring workforce. The chat was full of resources from others who attended. Here's the main website: leo.gradelevelreading.net/

    Here's the webinar archive: leo.gradelevelreading.net/webi

I added the link to my library, too.

These maps created by #clmooc network have inspired my "who's connected" ideas since I first saw them with #etmooc in January 2013, just before the first CLMOOC began. clmooc.com/history/

  6. I've been following
    @systemswiki.bsky.social
since around 2011, first on LinkedIn. It's fascinating to see what Gene does with systems modeling and how he shares his work and thinking. I think some of my #clmooc and #etmooc friends might find this interesting.

You can connect with Gene at linkedin.com/in/systemswiki/

    Take a look.

  7. The whole point of this is that if it seems nobody cares maybe that is an assumption that is untested. In this case, this specific case, it is clearly only partly true at best. Challenge generalizations (even this one). news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4 #clmooc #nwpstudio

This is a poem in three formats: video/music/text and text alone and image/text
Each format adds to and mixes with the others. Readers are asked to do more. #clmooc #nwpstudio

  10. My 2nd post on the Tutor/Mentor blog, in 2005, focused on the potential of a virtual community. tutormentor.blogspot.com/2005/

In the years since then I've met many wonderful people and found a wide range of ideas that have inspired me and supported my work.

The #clmooc and #etmooc communities are just one example.

Yet, with the trouble at Twitter causing people to leave the platform or reducing engagement, and other platforms not having a similar reach, the potential has been greatly diluted.

  11. I hope you'll visit my article and view the visualizations shown at tutormentor.blogspot.com/2024/

Two focus on understanding youth employment/unemployment issues in Botswana and England. The third builds an understanding of people in New Zealand who are working together to solve complex problems.

  12. I've used #ConceptMaps since 2005 to visualize ideas and strategies for helping kids. I use cMapTools, but often I've pointed to other tools, like Kumu and NodeXL. In this article I show two comprehensive visualizations of youth employment challenges. One is for Botswana and the other for England. tutormentor.blogspot.com/2024/

I'd love to see my #clmooc, #etmooc network taking time to explore these, and someone in Chicago & other US cities creating their own versions.

  15. I posted this article about #NetworkBuilding on my #Tutor #Mentor blog in late February 2012. In the article I introduce two men who I had met 10 years earlier.

Shortly after writing this I began connecting with educators on Twitter, via #ETMOOC, #CLMOOC, #DLMooc events. I'm still connected to some of these people here on Mastodon, and still on Twitter.
