#CliveBarker's Kickstarter looks good, but takes my shipping worries to a new level, shipping 3 books quarterly. That means 3x import taxes and hassle.

Maybe I'll have them shipped to the US instead to pick up when I visit. Or just get the pdf version and save on shelf space. Waiting on the answer of a community question to see if those are DRM free.

I wonder how much will actually be stories and how much will be poetry or drawings, which I'm less interested in.

Over the past month or so I've repurchased four books from my (let's call it...) youth. I have lost a lot of stuff from my childhood home and while I can't replace everything, I do like that I can some things.

In this case, the items are actually upgrades.

Picked up hardback copies of #StephenKing ,errr #PeterStraub (ha) #TheTalisman and #TheBlackHouse. Also grabbed hardbacks of #CliveBarker #WeaveWorld and #Imajica. (I've also got autographed copies of #Everville and #TheGreatAndSecretShow, but those were picked up years ago)

I've read them all in paperback way, way back in the day, but I like the security of hardback.

All I know is, I'm gonna be pissed if Amazon ever buys #ThriftBooks.

The first true Hellraiser game is on its way to PS5, Xbox and Steam via Saber Interactive with 'Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival'. It'll be a first-person horror survival game where you play as Aidan, who has to use the power of a puzzle box – the Genesis Configuration – to help his girlfriend Sunny escape from the Labyrinth. You'll deal with Pinhead of course, who will be voiced by Doug Bradley, and you'll battle Cenobites.

Finally saw Hellraiser: Revelations (free on Tubi) after avoiding it for 12 years because I thought a Pinhead without Doug Bradley was a dumb idea. Why not just come up with another main cenobite? Like the Hulu one did? Anyway, the acting in it mostly sucked and non-Bradley Pinhead was weird, but admittedly there were a couple okay gross-out scenes as usual (which is what I'm watching for anyway).

I'm only partway through Hellraiser: Judgment and while the first scenes are severely twisted and weird (props to the makers for those, if you've seen it, you know what I mean), but then after that for quite a while, it becomes more of a cop/crime drama than a Hellraiser movie 😂 The other stuff in it is definitely a different kind of concept, though. I have to give em that.

Lemarchandova kostka, bájný hlavolam, který otevírá dveře k absolutním rozkoším jiných sfér. A cenobité vás jimi rádi provedou. Trýznivá bolest je tou rozkoší.

Released 36 years ago yesterday (September 18) in North America (Sept 10 in the UK) in 1987, one of my favorite movies ever, Hellraiser. It's had all kinds of sequels - I've seen all the Bradley ones and the Hulu one. All have their perks (2 might be my favorite? 3 is cool too) but they definitely get cheesier and weirder as they go (with the exception of the newest Hulu one, which was pretty great).
