Hey! I am trying to pick off another episode of Torchwood because I am trying to finish off the show (even though I don’t exactly love it) and here is season three episode one and Peter Capaldi is in it! Doctor Who Number 12’s actor in his second of two Doctor Who related roles from before he was actually cast as The Doctor. Fascinating.

Where was I?

Oh yeah. The morning routine. Let’s start my exercising and maybe get some shite done before I have to drive in to work.

*Back in the 1980’s I started obsessively reading the novels and short stories written by Clive Barker. Mr. Barker, in at least one of his works, used the word “shite”. I had never heard or read that word before. Mr. Barker is from Liverpool. Is shite a Liverpudlian thing? I don’t know. I do know that I am currently a little more than half way through the audio book version of Weaveworld and hearing the word shite get used again is making me feel nostalgic for the old days of language discovery and shite.

Stasera è stata la volta del remake di un cult horror il cui mondo mi ha sempre affascinato, ma la cui realizzazione non mi ha mai convinto (anche le poche cose che ho letto di Clive Barker mi hanno davvero annoiato).

Sicuramente migliore dei primi anche come ambientazione e atmosfere, a mio parere, ma niente di imperdibile.

Jamie Clayton però rende Pinhead incredibile; attrice bravissima, reinterpretazione davvero riuscita!

Finally saw Hellraiser: Revelations (free on Tubi) after avoiding it for 12 years because I thought a Pinhead without Doug Bradley was a dumb idea. Why not just come up with another main cenobite? Like the Hulu one did? Anyway, the acting in it mostly sucked and non-Bradley Pinhead was weird, but admittedly there were a couple okay gross-out scenes as usual (which is what I'm watching for anyway).

I'm only partway through Hellraiser: Judgment and while the first scenes are severely twisted and weird (props to the makers for those, if you've seen it, you know what I mean), but then after that for quite a while, it becomes more of a cop/crime drama than a Hellraiser movie 😂 The other stuff in it is definitely a different kind of concept, though. I have to give em that.

Behind the Monsters on Shudder was amazing. the first six episodes were six of the biggest horror movie monsters of all time and ended with a splash with Pinhead from Hellraiser. I am becoming a Clive Barker fan very rapidly. I love the original and the rebooted Hellraiser. I have seen Hellraiser 2 but I’m behind on the sequels. It was a great episode.
