  1. "CleanPowerSF rates will not increase on July 1". You'll never get an email like that from Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E). PG&E has raised rates 6 times in the last 12 months, 56% in 3 years, and 110% in 10 years.

The city of San Francisco has been federally mandated to provide electricity to its residents since 1913. PG&E has been blocking this for over a century. After a 2002 California law required private utilities to let their customers buy power from community choice aggregators, the city created CleanPowerSF, which provides a partial alternative to PG&E.

Over the last month, I paid CleanPowerSF 16¢/kWh* for energy, and PG&E 30¢/kWh to delivery that energy. 46¢ total. The average price for electrical service in the US is 13¢. The average price in California is 26¢. Last year the city started the next step in evicting PG&E. Let's keep the momentum going. Tell your representatives you are paying attention and want PG&E gone.

*: this is for 100% green energy, but still less than PG&E charges for brown energy.

  2. @Mik3y I pay for
#CleanPowerSF , which is green-based. They have different Mixes. Some are mostly solar / wind.

    I wish I could have a Solar / Wind / New Nuclear (Gen4 or newer / Fusion )

  4. @spatula I think the State of #California & #Newsom should buy the infrastructure from #PGE, and then #CA should bury their own power lines. Then CA should connect as many power generation companies as possible on the #StateOwnedInfrastructure and have them compete to drive down power generation costs.

In #SF, I can select between two power supply choices, PGE and #CleanPowerSF, & Clean Power SF is actually cheaper and greener.

We should do this bigger and better Statewide!
