The June issue of #Clarkesworld Magazine has dropped! In the editorial, Neil alluded to an informal subscription drive, "A few hundred new subscriptions would take us through to the end of the pay increase cycle and be a great way to both thank the team and celebrate our twentieth anniversary." If you enjoy great #SciFi go subscribe & help'em out!

I really enjoyed this month's issue of ClarkesWorld. I usually enjoy a number of the stories in each issue but this time I enjoyed every single one of them! I'm looking forward to next month's, only a few days away.

Thanks for this! The part about how, if you move a box turtle from the patch where it's lived for decades: "[I]t spends the rest of its life trying to walk home. Most don't make it."
Reminds me tangentially, but inescapably, of a remarkable time travel story by James Tiptree, Jr. (Alice Sheldon), "The Man Who Walked Home." (1972). Mind-blowing and heartbreaking.
Thankfully Clarkesworld reprinted it:

I’ve always been a digital subscriber to Clarkesworld, but I upgraded to print. Really nice quality, thick paper. Love having both.

Just signed back up. I've missed having the monthly magazine. Great stories, great podcast, and the cover art every month is outstanding.

I finally found the time to listen to another #Clarkesworld story. M. L. Clark keeps surprising me in “Mercy and the Mollusc” in ways that make sense and highlight sorry details that were introduced before. I wouldn't mind reading it again, in particular its beginning, which I originally found somewhat disorienting.

This deceptively simple-seeming short story packs a strong emotional punch. It does so by implying the emotion and never showing it, making a truly strong story. I recently switched from subscribing to the @clarkesworld podcast to the magazine itself. I grew up reading my dad's science fiction magazines, and it's nice to be reading great short stories every month again. https://clarkesworldmagazine.com/subscribe/ #ScienceFiction #SciFi #Clarkesworld

I find the focus on the child's gender at the beginning of “Niuniu” by Baoshu quite annoying. And generally weird about the that whole relationship. The story is quite terrifying, though, for me as a parent of a baby that age. And it could end after the first 27 minutes, after the first four chapters, for quite a different story, focussing on macabre humor. I didn't like it much, so I didn't finish it. #Clarkesworld
