Looks like I'm losing weight. Without trying. And I've had steatorrhea for weeks on end. And my blood sugar is nearly impossible to control, despite upping dosages on meds. All of that says "EPI" (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) to me.
But, seeing as the doc doesn't want to order a fecal elastase test, I'll have to purchase it myself in order to confirm -__-
@broadwaybabyto I have #ChronicPancreatitis #pancreatitis. There's a non-zero chance that pancreatic cancer is what does me in. Now I have yet another reason to hate RFK Jr.'s guts.
#Tirzepatide ad in the theater: one of the possible side effects listed as "inflamed pancreas." That feels like a scummy way to avoid saying #pancreatitis. It's no fun. But it's a rare side-effect at least. I'm on #dulaglutide which also has that as a rare side-effect. But I had already developed #ChronicPancreatitis at that point, so, kinda water under the bridge for me at least.
@wyvernsrose The pancreas is a fickle bastard. Recently had a consult for a possible surgery on mine. The surgeon was like "yeah, it's chronic pancreatitis alright, but you might want to hold off until the pain gets bad enough and constant enough." The surgery is, apparently, quite invasive with a long recover period. So that was fun. I get to just... wait for my pancreas to completely crap out.
Happy belated birthday to me. This time, it is not #pancreatitis, but #appendicitis. Yay. I go in for surgery at some point tomorrow to remove it. I wonder if this is related to my #ChronicPancreatitis #ChronicIllness or if it is just a bonus to start the new year. #FortWorth #healthcare.
@jalefkowit I'm chronically ill (#ChronicPancreatitis). Which means I hit my out-of-pocket max every year on my #ACA plan. Which means I get a bunch of emails like these that I never bother to read or follow up with. If the provider or the insurance company have any further beef, that's their problem.
Maybe due to #semaglutide med #trulicity, which delays gastric emptying? Just a "shot" in the dark, really. The paranoid person in me thinks that the GI doc might be trying to increase billable hours knowing that I've already hit deductible for the year.
