After re-watching the 3 Chocky TV series, I re-read John Wyndham's book. He really was a phenomenal writer. The first series is faithful to the book. The second, expands the story very well. The third series is a letdown. It is generic children's sci-fi, very badly miscast and derailed by sidelining the main character who underpinned the whole story.

Just finished rereading this. The language, and the sexual politics, are very much of its time but the central story is written with such delicacy and subtlety. It’s a story that stays with you for the rest of your life. Think I might have to work my way through my John Wyndham collection again. #JohnWyndham #Chocky #scifi
