  1. Of course the white nationalists were marching on Australia Day.

This is giving "Fuck the Judean People's Front, we're the people's front of Judea" though:

"In Brisbane, at a rightwing “Australia marches” event, which was separate from the March for Australia rallies in Melbourne and Sydney..."

A shame that these gronks are serving as a distraction from the many more good people marching at Invasion Day rallies.

  2. PLEASE SHARE TO ALL YOUR NETWORKS especially friends who care but haven't got involved yet
#survivalDay rallies have been growing for years and are making a huge impact to building solidarity to fix the injustices from #colonisation and #racism
We need to keep growing this event and show that the people who care vastly outnumber the people trying to reinforce racism with their own rallies

  3. This should be our national anthem!

Can you imagine if at the opening of parliament, every official and sporting event
    everyone loudly sung together

    "Wassamatter you
    Itsa not so bad
    Itsa nice place
    Ahhh shaddupa you face"

  4. @dj2mn @nygl We can keep Invasion Day. Everyone who wants to #changethedate is thinking too small, we can just declare extra holidays.

    Jan 26: Invasion Day.
    Mar 3: Independence Day.
Xxx X: Treaty day / Australia Day, date TBD.

  5. A passing thought while I'm in Western Australia...

WA was never part of New South Wales, so 26 January 1788 - Sydney's foundation day - can have no meaning for it per se.

The only significance 26 January can have for this part of Australia is a celebration of the arrival of white settlers on the continent. So nothing to do with the modern nation state of Australia, and everything to do with white supremacy.

It really won't do as the date for a unifying national day.

  6. Even channel 7, the Most Racist Of Channels, speaks of a day of “reflection and celebration”. January 26 is over, let’s just get on with making a new day we can actually celebrate. #changethedate

  7. Is it time to change the date of Australia Day? Find out how our senators have previously voted on the topic at theyvoteforyou.org.au/policies

  8. Usual Suspects stoking division and claiming to be saving the country. Straight out of the Republican playbook.
Not sure how some of them manage to blame Albo, but throw enough shit I suppose.
Apparently I am crazy and hate this country because I am a lefty, don’t deny the crazy title, but hating the country because I am left is a bit much.

I'm severely irritated by politicians saying boycott Woolworths and even more irritated by Dutton and "But Mr Crisafulli said he felt the supermarket giant made a mistake by stopping the sale of specific Australia Day merchandise." because it will encourage the people who think that the 26th is some sort of Bogan Christmas that it's okay to do this sort of thing.

I guess I'll girlcott Woolworths. I'm still avoiding supermarkets whenever I can, because of trying to avoid stupid Covid, and delivery is sometimes a damn sight more convenient. I usually go with Coles as they're cheaper delivery.

But because some idiot in Queensland attacked Woolworths for not stocking specific items for Invasion Day they'll get a supportive sympathy shop from me. #ChangeTheDate #Australia #January26 #NotMyAustraliaDay

  10. Let's face it, 26 January is becoming unusable as the date of our national day. Needs to be changed.

  11. The King was born on November 14. What nonsense it is that we have a holiday for his Birthday on the second Monday of June.

I would rather see the "King's Birthday" replaced by an Australia-wide holiday celebrating our First Nations people.
