  3. The Athletic: Portzline | #CBJ have been given a pass for their on-ice struggles by many fans through the years.

  10. Told there’s nothing happening with #CBJ on the Kirill Marchenko front, despite rumors out of Russia to the contrary.

Not saying it can’t change later this summer. But my understanding is #CBJ have not had calls on Marchenko since earlier this summer.

  11. #CBJ Cole Sillinger's 3-year, $13.875 million contract goes one season ('28-29) into his free agency years.

In that final year of the contract, he has a 10-team no-trade clause.

  12. Extremely small chance the rumors of a Marchenko trade being imminent are true, imo. Makes actually zero sense unless a Fantilli extension is imminent and you're getting a top-line player in return. Don't see any of that happening.

  13. The Athletic: #CBJ and Cole Sillinger avoid arbitration, agree to a three-year contract that carries a $4.625 million salary cap hit.

  15. With projected #CBJ roster — 13Fs, 7D, 2G — they have roughly $21M in salary cap space with Adam Fantilli and Cole Sillinger unsigned.

NHL cap this season is $104M. #CBJ will probably land around $100M.

Waddell: "Hopefully we have some (cap space) left to do something else."

  16. Further to news of former #CBJ Jack Johnson joining the Ohio State women's hockey staff as associate coach ...

Another former #CBJ James Wisniewski is no longer with the program. He had been associate coach for two years.

Spokesperson: Wisniewski wanted to be closer to family.

  17. RE: ext.sportsbots.xyz/users/77594

He resigned as a pro scout with the Vancouver #Canucks because of this opportunity, he tells The Athletic.

  18. #CBJ Adam Fantilli, a restricted free agent, is vacationing in Italy. Talks on a temporary hold, but there has been progress, and the two sides will connect early next week.

At 9:20 am — 20 minutes after the arbitration hearing was scheduled to begin — they reached agreement on a 3-year, $15 million contract.

  22. #CBJ GM Don Waddell statement: "Jet is a high-character, talented and athletic goaltender who has become an important part of our hockey club. Our intent always was to get a deal done to ensure he remains a Blue Jacket and we are thrilled that we were able to do so."

  26. #CBJ still in talks with G Jet Greaves in the hope of reaching agreement on a long-term contract before Thursday's arbitration hearing.

In lieu of a deal, GM Don Waddell / two others from the front office will fly to Toronto this evening.
