**Local Seneca-Cayuga Nation director debuts first feature film ahead of major release**

    >Friday marks the debut of the first-ever wide-release feature film to highlight the Cayuga, or Gayogohó:nǫˀ, language prominently. It is the first feature film for local director Erica Tremblay, an Ithaca resident and herself a member of the Seneca-Cayuga Nation.

    >“Fancy Dance” stars recent Golden Globe winner Lily Gladstone as a Native American woman urgently trying to solve the mystery of her sister’s disappearance while also protecting her niece, played by co-lead Isabel Deroy-Olson. Tremblay co-wrote, directed and produced the film.

And of course the repeated attacks on those cultural centers are due to the actions of the US government, which has interfered with the Nation's governance process.
