Victoria is in the middle of a 3 day #heatwave. VicEmergency has just published a Catastrophic Fire risk forecast for the Wimmera region in the north-west of the state for tomorrow, Tuesday, 13 February 2024. First rating at this level in Victoria since 2019/2020 catastrophic #bushfires
They advise: For your survival, leave bushfire risk areas - if a fire starts and takes hold, lives are likely to be lost.
Catastrophic fire danger signals the worst possible grass and bushfire conditions. Extreme Fire Danger Rating has also been forecast for the Mallee and Northern Country districts.
Total Fire Bans have been declared for the Wimmera, Mallee and Northern Country districts.
