The CBC's Canada Reads competition is in full swing. And so far, Kate Beaton's remarkable graphic memoir, Ducks, is still in the race. A good reason and moment to re-post my Alberta Unbound interview with her! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/s4-episode-4-of-ducks-and-men/id1511810939?i=1000587140178 #AlbertaUnbound #FortMcMurray #Alberta #CapeBreton #CBC #CanadianBroadcastingCorporation #CanadaReads #CanadaReads2023 #MatteaRoach #KateBeaton #Ducks #OilSands #NovaScotia #SenateofCanada

Our most recent Alberta Unbound episode featured Kate Beaton, talking about her extraordinary book, #Ducks - a graphic memoir of her years working in the oil sands. This is the book everyone is talking about - it's extraordinary. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/s4-episode-4-of-ducks-and-men/id1511810939?i=1000587140178 #FortMcMurray #oilsands #KateBeaton #Alberta #CapeBreton

Kate Beaton made her name with her witty web comic, Hark! A Vagrant. Her new book, #Ducks, is very different - a powerful #memoir of her years in the oil sands work camps north of Ft. McMurray. Proud to host her on the latest episode of Alberta Unbound. This is a dark, disturbing, and funny conversation. And if you want to understand #Alberta - or Cape Breton - it's a must listen. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/s4-episode-4-of-ducks-and-men/id1511810939?i=1000587140178 #CapeBreton #KateBeaton #ymm #oilsands
