A day out back in my old office with Moray. Our old office, because Moray usually came to work with me.
Hot hazy sunshine above an inversion. Lurcher's Crag and the Northern Corries to Cairn Gorm. I used to be up here several times a week, now love just wandering without any particular objectives.

Today, I took a walk around #lochMorlich. There were some lovely views of the #mountains but I particularly liked this view of #Cairngorm where you can see the #funicular railway and ski slopes.

Day out with Moray in my old office yesterday. I've been retired from guiding for 3 years now but it's great to get out and wander in familiar territory over #CairnGorm and #BenMacdui.
I also do path monitoring: reporting on issues with some of the well used paths on the hill - mostly path widening and erosion - so that repairs can be carried out.

Not every photo I post will have a story, but this is one of my favourites because of the story.
I had walked up a quiet part of #Cairngorm with my family, hoping to see Rock #Ptarmigan (Logopus mutus). At the head of the corrie we stopped to look and listen. It was May and we heard then saw a male calling. He was about 50m in front, then we noticed a female about 30m behind us, looking interested. I took some photos and then we settled to eat our lunch and see what happened... -
Had a wonderful day in the Cairngorms, and not a single PlattyJoob in sight 👍
