Not so long ago, in the small border village of Braxton, there was a remarkable collection of 200 or so life sized animal sculptures, moulded in concrete/cement and hand painted. They were created by John Farringdon for his sick son, and became an obsession. I thought it had gone forever, but it's now being restored and will have a safe permanent home in Ayton Castle, Berwickshire. https://aytoncastle.co.uk/projects.html#Branxton
