2 2nd tiny frog This is in wetland area on the farm just outside the acreage. No standing water around at this time (except on my driveway), mix of grass/sedge, shrubby willows and dwarf birch with larger (same species) willows, paper birch, tamarack (larch) poplars and spruce nearby in wetland edge and blending to upland.

1 of 2 These two tiny frogs were photographed less than a minute apart and within a metre or few. As different as they look (next post), I think they are both Boreal Chorus Frogs Pseudacris maculata (the ones that sing in ponds in the spring).Fast little critters+ crappy photos..lol

Exploring large-scale landscape structures with a simple Principal Component Analysis (PCA) applied to a MODIS composite.
The PCA reveals striking contrasts in surface materials, vegetation patterns, and terrain transitions across western Canada — from the Rocky Mountains into the prairies and the Canadian Shield.
Even with moderate-resolution MODIS data, spectral variability produces a surprisingly rich view of regional geography and geomorphology.#RemoteSensing #EarthObservation #Geology #PCA #MODIS #OpenData #GIS #QGIS #Geomorphology #Geoscience #RStats #Lithology #GeoDataArt #GeoSpectralArt #BorealForest #Taiga #Canada #Alberta
