Featuring a bevy of a-list guests like Bootsy Collins, Bernie Worrell, Gary Mudbone Cooper, and Maceo Parker...This is very indicative of a kind of transitional phase where classic funk musicians and modern hip hop influences were commingling with certain edgier sounds starting in the late 80s that should have had more commercial success, but didn’t for some reason"
