Yes. To add.. there will always be middlemen. But they can be made less toxic by the open marketplace. In this example, the Fediverse. As open source software, Bandwagon, Mirlo, and Faircamp are a #BillionaireProof hedge against #Enshitification. If one ever tried to become toxic, you (or your cousin) can always fire up your own instance.

This is what I have been calling #BillionaireProof :)

Apart from #POST.news' half-baked #BusinessModel, this is a must-know for all #journalists, #MediaProfessionals, #SocialInfluencers, + other content-contributors.
As #JackDorsey said, #Twitter should never have been a company.
The infrastructure of the internet and social media must be public domain, #BillionaireProof.
This is why the #EuropeanUnion's institutions are moving to #Mastodon. #Germany's have its own instance, too.
No more #GleichschaltungDerPresse

Destroying it might be his plan B. (See my TL for toots regarding @davetroy).
However, I disagree with selling it off. No, I agree with #JackDorsey: #Twitter should not have been a company.
It should be nationalized, better even "internationalized", if that were possible.
Like #Mastodon, it should be #BillionaireProof.

Welcome.
This is the place to be, sort of like what #jackdorseymeant when he said that #Twitter should never have been a company.
