"You've got a friend" - Big Fun and Sonia
Ver Fun sitting on bar stools, in their bomber jackets with colour-coded linings. Sonia is on another bar stool, at an angle to the trio so she's facing them, and she remains in the shadows until it's her turn to sing. Gary Barnacle plays the role of Epic Sax Guy up in the crow's nest, an inventive use of the studio.

Yeah, "Bara bad bastu" is OK, but I still prefer their earlier hit "Can't shake the feeling".

One last winner from the Smash Hits Poll of 1989, the Most Promising New Group.
Big Fun, three lads who sung in almost-harmony, who danced in near-unison, and whose hair was suspiciously like Bruce Forsyth's. They didn't have any big hits after 1989, and band member Jason John died in 2017.
There is something undeniably brilliant about the chorus of "Can't shake the feeling", I'll remember them this way.
