Given the vendor here, call me skeptical - OR some peeps who should KNOW better, are getting played here!

If META's settlement agreement with 29 states is all about improving child safely in social media - then why would the state AGs agree not to sue Meta under existing child safety laws over its retention and use of children’s data????

Meta's agreement says that the state AGs have agreed to “fully, finally, and forever” not to bring any past, present, or future COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) claims—or claims under similar state laws, re Meta’s use of children’s data.

BUT, COPPA is a FEDERAL law primarily enforced by the FTC, and not by the states. The FTC is not a party to this settlement, so what does that mean?
