If you are like my wife and I, like dogs/cats, and you desperately need a smile or two, check out books by Spencer Quinn. All the books are on bard for my blind friends, but i decided to purchase the series for like $3 a piece because ... the narrator kinda sounds like a robot. You need to put a smile into what you're reading when you're literally the narrator for the dog narrator, Jim Franjin (spelling) knocks it out of the park. We listened to the preview clip for book 1 of the series, and we were hooked, hook line and sinker. To be fair, Michael Surer, I think that's the spelling for the Bard narrator, isn't terrible but if you can swing it, grab the Audible version. All are short reads, for me, they're short, at 9 or 10 hours a pop. If you don't like puns, dog narrators, cat narrators, or humor, steer clear. He has a kids trilogy for grades 5 and up, and a series with a cat and dog crime fighting duo. I usuyou don't like mysteries, but yeah, we're making an exception. Oh yeah if you hate corny, these books are cornier than corn chowder, corn bread, or corne on the cob. An idea that may very well be barking mad. Considering a dogs sense of smell can be up to 100,000 times more sensitive than a humans, how do we really know what the dogs think of it? It probably masks the aromas dogs are interested in!
