2. Those two guys will never be able to live anywhere else because this will follow them for the rest of their lives. They are in prison so are all the people who live in the town. May the girl and her family take some comfort from this.
If a town chooses to trash their reputation to protect rapists found guilty twice then everyone in that town can suffer the consequences.

Always poignant if you tour through wee villages in north-east #Scotland like the ones on the route the Queen's coffin took from #Balmoral you find all the memorials to their war dead. Some are stone monuments, others quiet plaques on hall/church walls. The loss disproportionately affected these rural areas as a significant percentage of menfolk never returned.
