Seeing the amount of energy that is "wasted" to the grid each day (only to be imported again at night for money) got me motivated to build another smaller battery out of 70 spare 18650 cells (10s7p) to join the bigger one behind it (Installation still pending).
0.7 kWh is not huge, but better than leaving as good as new cells sitting in the corner for years.
Old ammunition boxes make for great cases btw.

I just finished the first version of a small software for managing the balcony solar plant of some family members. It works completely without any cloud or any other people's computers or even an internet connection.

There's three panels and an inverter with a battery. Any power initially is used in the household, then if anything is left it's put into the battery for later use, or if the battery is full, fed it into the public grid (to get a small financial compensation). Or if you want to, you can override that and just charge the battery, or even charge it from the grid.

Of course the inverter originally needs a cloud connection and comes with an app that needs a cloud connection and obviously is described as AI-powered very smart whatever. But there is a documented API for getting and setting some values! Interoperability! Without the cloud, there's hardly any logic built in. So I had to create it myself.

It's just a few HTTP requests, json, a SQLite database, and some very basic HTML.

Damit sie bei stürmischen Wetterlagen nicht wegfliegen - was noch zu überprüfen sein wird - habe ich bei der Aufständerung an jede Halterung schwere Füße angeschraubt.

Beim örtlichen #steinmetz und #steintechniker habe ich mir für die Beschwerung dicke Steine mit Schrauben anfertigen lassen.

Ich möchte bei uns (individuell auf unserem Balkon und denen der im gleichen Gebäude) das Projekt Balkonsolar vorantreiben.

Ich bin nicht gut genug, das alles alleine zu machen.

Bei den #Nazis hießen Windräder = Reichskrafttürme "Hitler forderte stattdessen dezentrale Kleinanlagen auf Dächern, da die gigantischen Türme als zu anfällig für Bombenangriffe galten."
