2021 also saw Ishikawa soaring towards the sky as Misato in #bakuten. Initially seeming like your stock rival character, Misato turns out to be an incredibly empathetic young man who uses gymnastics to deal with a past he may not want to face. Ishikawa's performance is great at being able to use Misato's stoic nature for both comedy and emotional effect.

In 2021, Konishi soared to the sky as Takase in #bakuten, the head of the rival gymnastics team to our protagonists. Another Konishi hardass, he still gets a nice performance out of someone who enjoys seeing those he's competing against do just as well, if not better, than his team.

Finally, also in 2021, Sakurai voiced by Shida in #bakuten. The coach for the men's gymnastics team, Shida was always there to lend a helping hand and caring voice to his boys, knowing how easily one slip-up could change things. Sakurai still has the authority his characters normally do, but in a more laid-back fashion, making sure his students learn what they need to on their own time.
