In memory of the 2013 Gezi Park protests in Istanbul, we are organising a political afternoon in Görlitzer Park.
From 2 pm, there will be a cultural programme featuring engaging talks, music, readings and delicious food!
As Gezi was a significant meeting place for various groups marginalised by society, LGBTI+ people also played a crucial role in the occupation and the accompanying protests.
Even today, in places like Görlitzer Park, we LGBTI+ people must fight for our right to exist in public spaces, and in doing so, defend ourselves against discrimination, state violence and repression.
With increasing cases of LGBTI+-hostile hate crimes and displacement tactics, such as the fence around Görli, the struggle for Gezi is as relevant as ever.
We therefore call on you to join us in commemorating our fallen comrades from Istanbul, to honour their courage and resilience during the Gezi protests.
May they never be forgotten – Rest in Power!

In Erinnerung an die Gezi-Park-Proteste von 2013 in Istanbul, veranstalten wir einen politischen Nachmittag im Görlitzer Park.
Es wird ab 14:00 Kulturprogramm mit spannendem Input, Musik, Lesungen und leckerem Essen geben!
Da Gezi ein bedeutsamer Treffpunkt für unterschiedliche Gruppen war, die an den Rand der Gesellschaft gedrängt wurden, spielten auch LGBTI+ Personen eine entscheidende Rolle bei der Besetzung und den begleitenden Protesten.
Auch heute noch, an Plätzen wie dem Görlitzer Park, müssen wir LGBTI+ Personen für unser Recht kämpfen, an öffentlichen Orten zu existieren, und uns dabei gegen Diskriminierung, staatliche Gewalt und Repression wehren.
