For the months June to August, Australia is one of the most pronounced changes in temperature due to the water vapour injection into the stratosphere.
Precipitation is also up considerably for these months.I bring this paper up every once in a while as an illustration for why I can't agree with Global Mean thinkers, as in, Hunga Tonga's contribution to GM temperature is only 0.03°C or somesuch.
The regional impact can be devastating nonetheless, even if Global Mean Anything is unremarkable!
Recall drowning UK and Northern Germany in winter 2023 and again 2024?
So much rain fell that winter crops got destroyed and sowing season delayed.

From @phannam in the Guardian. on the attempt for an Australian longterm #weather #forecast . With #ElNino on its way out, #LaNina might knock at the door which would be a first since observations. But the IOD #IndianOceanDipole also plays a big role in #Ausweather, as do the spiking ocean surface temperatures, and the global weirding as background music. In the Black Summer 2019/2020, #ENSO was neutral-ish but a dry IOD caused the enormous bushfires.
