Apparently I'm only the third person to stamp a French #ATACarnet at the tiny French customs kiosk in Bâle railway station in 2026 (and yet the computer system worked better than at CDG). So little customs traffic that swiss customs are just... not using the office there anymore, oops.

Challenge for this month of August: figure out how to use an #ATACarnet on a passenger train between France (Paris) and Switzerland (Zürich), and back.
Maybe some frequent #TGVLyria users can comment on the probability of customs boarding the trains?
Apparently on the Swiss side you have to "go do formalities in a customs office within 7 days" if there's no customs staff boarding the train. Can't wait to have to go to the airport to scan a QR code...
I am once again questioning some of my hobbies.
