#ArdmoreOK has officially removed the "interim" from the #police chief's title.
David Houser was mysteriously fired from his last job in Durant in 2022 before being selected to replace the former Ardmore police chief in 2023 after that one was mysteriously fired.
"One of the things I'd like to continue to do here is take care of our officers,” Houser told #KXII after being sworn in. “In order to maintain trust and relationships, that builds upon transparency and accountability."

In other news, today is #PearlHarborDay and I recently learned the first #ArdmoreOK casualty from WWII was a local sailor who went down on the USS #Oklahoma in 1941.
His remains stayed with those of his shipmates in the Honolulu Memorial Cemetery "Punchbowl" and weren't identified until 2021.
Last year, his body returned to the Sooner State where his became the first burial at the veterans' cemetery named in his honor.

There is a regular stream of fatal crash stories from the stretch of #I35 between #ArdmoreOK #Oklahoma and #Texas. It's a wide-open stretch of freeway with tons of visibility and often light traffic.
All I can figure is that some just can't resist the urge to drive dangerously fast?

While patching up a #squirrel hole in the attic, I turned the #antenna a few degrees north and #KTEN comes in much better in #ArdmoreOK from the #TishomingoOK transmitter...
...but now the other broadcaster's signal tends to glitch out, and I don't hear squirrels anymore.
When will I get back up in the attic?
