I'm fortunate enough to have been born in a period where the internet did not exist. So I saw everything from the beginning as it was being set up in my section of Terra. The internet was such a peaceful place; we could transmit UID PASS information in ASCII text!

In the period I was born, the smart network people were not even talking about milnet / arpanet

I'm one of the three persons who is also fortunate enough to build the architecture of the internet in my country of SR SA. At that point in time our phone company had high level Engineers who did not even know the difference between an IP address and a physical House address, let alone know how to ask through Archie.ans.net what a specific RFC is and how it should be downloaded with [email protected].

None of them could speak Hayes commands like ATX3DT ATA
