    Hear me out.

    Sure, I bought this for the 4 songs that are from Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory. I have a great sentimental attachment to that movie, AND to the great Gene Wilder.

    I wish it was Gene singing these songs, because I HATE how Newley sings. Not just those Willy songs, but in general. I have NO CLUE why David Bowie loved him so much.

    But there’s another reason I bought it, and it has to do with a DIFFERENT movie.

    I saw the images of Newley on both the front and back covers and I thought, “Where the hell do I know this guy from?!?!”

    I knew I had seen him in something, but was unsure til I looked it up.

    Newley starred in one of the biggest cinematic abortions ever; as Captain Manzini in the 1987 motion picture Waterloo known as THE GARBAGE PAIL KIDS MOVIE.

    This album? Not worse than that.
