c2c #Railway has marked one year in public ownership by highlighting improved performance, revenue growth and customer initiatives. Now part of GBR Anglia, which brings together c2c, Greater #Anglia and Network Rail Anglia under a single leadership structure, the operator said it was the UK's most reliable and punctual train company between April 2025 and March 2026, achieving an industry-leading 91.9% Time to 3 (T-3) score. Revenue rose 10.6% year on year, with passenger numbers and ticket sales also increasing. c2c remains the UK's only fully contactless National Rail network, with more than five million contactless journeys made to and from its #Essex stations since launch. The operator also highlighted station improvements, community fundraising and the introduction of the first GBR Anglia-branded trains as part of the transition towards Great #British #Railways.

🚄🇬🇧 The first Alstom-built #trains in the new Great #British #Railways (GBR) Anglia livery have been unveiled at #London Liverpool Street station. Two c2c Class 357 Electrostar and two Greater Anglia Class 720 Aventra trains were displayed, marking the launch of a single identity bringing together c2c, Greater Anglia and Network Rail #Anglia under unified leadership. The move aims to improve reliability, accountability and customer service. The two Class 357s were repainted at Alstom’s #Ilford Depot as part of a refurbishment programme covering c2c’s 74-strong fleet, with more trains to follow. The work includes repairs, corrosion protection and an eco-friendly paint system designed to extend the trains’ working life and improve the passenger experience.

Work to reinstate the car park at #Colchester railway station is due to begin later this month after design work was completed. Upgrades already underway include improvements to the power supply, drainage and preparations for a new lift. The scheme will provide more accessible parking bays, new pedestrian routes, improved lighting and CCTV, plus additional cycle and motorcycle parking. Delivered by Greater #Anglia as part of GBR Anglia, the project will reopen parking spaces in phases as work progresses. The car park closed in July 2024 after a structural survey found deterioration in the decked section, which was later demolished. Other areas of the station car park remain open, with temporary access roads and a new pedestrian walkway in place. Greater Anglia said it would keep disruption to a minimum and thanked customers for their patience.

@CLondoner92 it's worth remembering that Greater Anglia withdrew services to four stations (Littleport, Downham Market, Watlington and King's Lynn) in 2023, so that's only a net gain of one station since 2017, plus that removed single-seat journeys and slowed down all those journeys to the City of London +some others. Some hope GBR #Anglia will see reintroduction of the peak extras, as well as the long-awaited Ely Area Capacity Upgrade (frequent all-day service) and South Lynn Parkway station.

GBR Anglia is marking Better #Transport Week 2026 by highlighting a decade of investment aimed at improving rail travel across the region. The annual campaign, running from 15–21 June, promotes the benefits of public transport, walking, wheeling and cycling.

Since 2017, five new stations have opened in #Anglia – Cambridge North, Meridian Water, Soham, Barking Riverside and Beaulieu Park – improving rail access for growing communities. Cambridge South is set to join the network on 28 June, featuring around 400 solar panels and improved links to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and surrounding areas.

GBR Anglia said the progress reflects closer collaboration between c2c, Greater Anglia and Network Rail Anglia under a single leadership team. Alongside major projects, improvements such as expanded cycle parking and better information on local transport links aim to make journeys more accessible, reliable and sustainable.
