    The first measurements of their kind of the "Ambipolar Current" have been made by the #NASA #Goddard Endurance mission in #Svalbard, #Norway.

    Why am I flustered by this news? The #AmbipolarCurrent may well be a missing piece of the #AtmosphericElectricCircuit!

    The paper can be accessed under restrictions through Nature at nature.com/articles/s41586-024 (entire link is necessary for authorized access), but printing and download are restricted to paying individuals.

    Glyn Alexander Collinson at science.gsfc.nasa.gov/sci/bio/ and Alex Glocer at science.gsfc.nasa.gov/sci/bio/ were the two whom organized and coordinated the efforts to gather these groundbreaking measurements with a large team in support of them.
