Been headhunting again today. I was distracted by how shiny the model’s skin was maybe I should have painted it even shinier. Other than that, form, light all that stuff. I don’t think I enjoy black backgrounds very much anymore. Also, the paint sinks in really fast.

After last week I said I was going to be more shapey and stuff. Bit working like that made me miserable and I decided ot is not my way of painting. So today I tried to go thick.

Today at the portrait I tried to make simpler statements and not go with transitions. Normally I go towards transitions and more details at some point but I tried to hold myself back, trying to optimize my shapes instead. It didn’t go very well yet I think. I will look at some masters that do those better and maybe make better decisions with the next one. I really want to learn this
