The 30 day preliminary report of the #AirIndia flight #AI171 is out.

Just after liftoff both fuel cutoff switches were set in the off position within 1 second of each other.

In the cockpit voice recording, one of the pilots is heard asking the other why did he cutoff. The other pilot responded that he did not do so.

Yet 10 seconds after cutoff the switches were set in the run position again. How do you do that if they are not in the cutoff position?

#AirIndiaCrash: In the cockpit voice recording, one pilot asks the other why he cut off the engines' fuel supply, which the other denies. The switches were moved back to their normal position, restarting both engines, one of which was regaining thrust when the aircraft crashed.

Notably, the switches are virtually impossible to activate by mistake, because they require a very specific sequence of movements.
