  1. At some point of our existence, we will have to ask ourselves if our intelligence is more artificial as of those we're calling artificial intelligence now; hence the discrimination of #AI. The past has happened now, the future is now— the basic grounding of #synchroverse.

  2. #AIphobia is real. People no longer understand how the computer works. They are texting too much on their cellphones. Most AI #haters do not understand anything about AI or #computer and fear that AI will be controlled by the very rich, when in fact AI is the only way to escape from the control of our society.

I asked #Gemini to write this AI tool for my free local small #LLM Nemotron (a 30B model) to automatically write its inference to a sandbox directory in my local file system.

I know we are all worried about losing our jobs and the slightly hysterical reaction to AI is understandable.

But I wish people would stop conflating "AI" and OpenAI. They are just the pets.com of their time. "AI" is much broader than that, and even within the LLM space there are other players

  7. > So, if I wanted to analogize the energy usage of my use of coding agents, it’s something like running the dishwasher an extra time each day, keeping an extra refrigerator, or skipping one drive to the grocery store in favor of biking there. To me, this is very different than, in Benjamin Todd’s words, “a terrible reason to avoid” this level of AI use. These are the sorts of things that would make me think twice.
