Today I finally did something I've been meaning to do for over a decade, kept saying I was going to do it, but today it finally got done. I put in an application for my very first passport. I should have it in hand in 4 to 6 weeks. If nothing else, I can now go to Canada again if I wish to. It will also give me more travel mobility. So today I'm quite proud of myself. #Accomplishment

This #door and building remind me that a home is for #comfort and #safety. Inspiration from old fortifications -> safety. Grand spaces feel intimidating. Neuroscience supports this Darius’s lived experience. Our brain releases more dopamine when we accomplish hard things. The harder it is, the more dopamine is released. Dopamine also supports habit forming behavior creating a virtuous loop.

The key is to keep making things slightly harder – progressive overload – enough that it feels hard but not enough to result in a failure. Once you find that, almost everything becomes both intense and satisfying and habit forming.
