So, #4BC seems to have revived the old top-9-at-9 that #4KQ used to do… but they're making us guess the theme.
Songs so far featured:
- Gordon Lightfoot -- Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald (was also the "lost classic", the event was on this day 48 years ago)
- Ray Parker Jnr -- Ghostbusters
- AC/DC -- Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt CheapI wonder if they're poking fun at #Optus. (Their network went down, there was speculation about all sorts of superstitions, then finger-pointing about sacking staff and using contractors…)

#4BC each morning do a "lost classic" where they play a hit song from the music top 40 past, that doesn't get a lot of air play. It's a carry-over from what the group there did on #4KQ.
One recurring theme I hear each time I catch that segment, is the artist (or their record company) saying: "My song was popular in ${COUNTRY}? I had no idea!"
Seems to me, the thing that is killing #music is NOT people copying CDs/LPs/tapes, far and above the bulk of the blame over the _past 8 decades_, lays at the feet of the record company #executives in the recording industry, who were too greedy to be _honest_ with their artists.

@tasdevilsrgr8 @dgar Now there's a novelty song I haven't heard in a while.
#4KQ used to play it about Brisbane Ekka time each year.

@w7voa They put some thought into that…
Brisbane station #4KQ finished up with "The End" by The Beatles (from Abbey Road), followed by the fading out of chirping crickets before #SENQ took over. The frequency is still in use, but now it's 24/7 sports waffle.
CW as a sign-off is rather appropriate. 🙂
I'm too young to remember 4IP becoming RadioTAB, so no idea what they did.
As for the callsign; W6OBB/sk -- sk = "silent key", i.e. an operator that's no longer with us.
