Someone ported Jaguar #Doom to the #32X and then they topped themselves by putting all the Doom 2 levels and music on a disc for the #SegaCD.
That's right, it's a SegaCD + 32X game! It uses the full #towerOfPower!

Not everyone would consider the #Sega #32X a 5th gen console, but I do! And my all time favorite game for it has a co-op mode:
#Kolibri for the #Sega32x is a #Hummingbird simulator, or shooter. It's absolutely gorgeous, and a lot of fun for a shooter!

The #SegaCD came with an ASIC for scaling and rotating sprites. This was likely used in the #SonicCD special stages to create the Mode7 effect for the tracks, and possibly other #games
But #Sega never ported their arcade super scalers to it. Instead they did ports of #Afterburner on the #32x a few years later where they do all the scaling in CPU!
I'm so curious why this is! Was the #hardware hard to use? Was there additional benefit to using the 32x's CPUs?

In 2001, Electronic Gaming Monthly published a cruel April Fools joke - attemping to convince Sega fans who were sad about the demise of Dreamcast that Sega was selling prototype Sega Neptunes out of a warehouse for $200. As one of the few people who actually had a 32X and 32X games, I was hopeful - but for reasons explained, I didn't quite fall for it.
