Some of my all-time favorite movie moments are in '2010: The Year We Make Contact' (the sequel to '2001: A Space Odyssey')
On Earth, Dr Chandra asks the SAL9000 for permission to shut it down (no 9000 series computer has ever been shut off before) in a manner similar to what Dave did to HAL at the end of 2001. After agreeing to the procedure SAL asks Chandra, "Will I dream?" To which Chandra replies, "Of course, all sentient beings dream." Later, aboard the Discovery,
