The unsung heros of the night shift have managed to actually mix them up, so now we have a little bit more than 100 items we can't sell due to regulations, and can't give them back either because they are already through all manufacturing procedures and thus aren't of any use for the original company.

Each item is worth approximately $200, that's a minimum $20,000 loss (a little more adding manpower, energy, time…) because some person hasn't taken a flashlight to look up two letters.

    Yay!!

I'm usually not spilling tea, but…you need to hear this even if you have no idea what I mean.
The company sometimes gets semi-finished products delivered that we make whole, and each item of those are marked with a batch number from the original manufacturer. When we do our work, this batch number becomes irrelevant to the customer because we print our own in it. But it matters for our production since it's illegal for us to mix different original batch numbers within ours.
    Guess what?

could not have been given to me. Without even the slightest breath of wind, a small dust devil had appeared some distance away just like that and vanished again just as quickly. Except that, within that cloud of swirling dust, I believed I had made out a face. A woman’s face, a very kind one. And it seemed to nod at me. I closed my eyes for a fleeting moment, gave thanks for what I had experienced, and then turned toward Abigail.

If you have one, post a snippet involving spirits, such as a character talking to or about them.

“It’s alright, I'm sorry.” Abigail said, in a somewhat soothing tone. I was refilling the bottles and just about to stand up when I caught sight of something on the opposite bank, and a word escaped my lips, “SHIMÁ.” “What?” Abigail asked, but I couldn’t explain to her what I had just witnessed. I couldn’t even explain it to myself, yet a clearer sign …

Bronze, Silber, Gold – gibt es sportliche Charaktere in deinen Geschichten? Und standen sie mal auf dem Siegertreppchen?

Nein.
    Nevermind.

Would any of your characters actually survive a “zombie” apocalypse?

    Ketchup

Nobody would, never ever. If there will be any disease that turns people into ferals within days or even hours, we're all doomed. Even those who somehow wouldn't be infected because we have to shut down every nuclear power plant, and even shut down they will turn real bad when unattended. So, every zombie tale or movie with survivors for more than a couple of months is blunt stupid.
    Sorry.

Can the dead truly return to the “land of the living” in your universe?

For real, like resurrection? Nah. Earth to Earth and so on.
But… (…and that's a little spoiler that I hopefully won't regret…) Kessy will see both her parents again.

  8. The young man even makes a call on my behalf, saying he’s just around the corner. I thank him and head off.

Another half hour passes, and then I find myself sitting in a vehicle that reeks intensely of a "new car" smell—with an old bicycle in the back—as I approach my destination. I’ve rented this station wagon for two months; it’s damn expensive. At the address Mark gave me, I find an auto repair shop But someone is already moving in.

As a writer, what do you need right now?

A whole month of vacation with nothing to do.
But it's almost the end of the year, so my workplace needs my efforts for inventory and year-end closing. Shame.

Do you collect (unaltered) natural materials for projects?

Um…no. Books with unfilled pages are unfortunately not native to Europe.

What location in your story would you most like to visit? What location would you absolutely avoid?

The town (that is unnamed) I would visit, but not the military base nearby. But in this story, I can't either because they're both made up.

Which character would survive the longest if suddenly dropped into our world (…)?

    Ketchup

All the indigenous characters I wrote about would survive until they die of old age. They don't depend on our understanding of how the world should work. They know their way, and everybody around them does too. Hitchhiking to the nearest reservation will do the trick, and nobody from any government or any kind of official people will ever notice what happened.

What's something you accomplished this month that you weren't sure if you would be able to?

What's something you accomplished this past week?

Nothing, since I didn't write a single letter.
Sorry, but sometimes I have to attend the bread job first…

Our next featured creator enjoys hiking.
Do you enjoy being outdoors, and if so, does it have an impact on your creativity?

Yes, I enjoy being out in the woods for various reasons. But I don't think it really has any impact on creativity.

How did you develop your voice?

Well, that happened without any action on my part approximately thirty-five years ago.
    Just kidding.

The voice of my works is dependent on who is the targeted group. So, a very light one for a younger audience and a much more serious one for adolescents and above.
But I didn't develop that, it just kinda naturally happened.

The last few pages I wrote, everything else is fixed.

How do you make sure you deliver on your writerly promises?

Checking the draft, checking it twice, and checking it a third time. Then again.
My feelings change over time, so I need to keep track of what, and how I've written before. It's absolutely necessary to keep the same tone throughout the whole work, otherwise the readers may get upset.

stands a perfectly groomed very young man in front of me, beckoning me over to his desk. So, back up I go, following him; in less than an hour, everything is sorted. The house isn’t sold yet, of course. An appraiser still needs to take a look at it. My mind is already racing ahead, because there’s no way I can keep getting around by bicycle; I wouldn’t survive that. I can’t take the company van away from the guys, either, so I need a car. A rental, for the time being.

  25. Didn’t I buy one a while back? I’d better check. I head downstairs, and there are actually two hanging on the wall. The tires are still in good shape, so I haul the smaller one upstairs and set off.

  26. Well, once I’ve managed to get rid of the house, there’ll be significantly more. But I have to actually pull that off first. The question is, how? Besides, I need a new workshop before anything else. So, I switch off the computer and look for… wait, I don’t even have a car. Alan always took care of that. Alan-Ass. I like that. From now on, that’s all I’m going to call him, Alan-Ass. But wasn’t there a bicycle somewhere in the basement?

  27. Shortly after, I arrive at what used to be my home though it isn’t anymore. I go inside anyway and look around. What do I want to keep? What can go? Honestly, everything could go, in either direction. But that’s not really an option, so I quickly sit down at the computer to check my account balance. Between that and the business account, there’s nearly seventy grand, but I can’t touch any of it. Only twelve of them are mine.
