Well, I had to give up on the #rsync approach - rsync over #MTP seemed to have issues with copying some file metadata that rsync would need to handle incremental updates. Subsequent rsyncs would re-copy _everything_. Boo.
Likewise using #android usb-debug mode and `adb push` (android debug tool on linux) also only re-copies everyting.
I could use #termux on the phone to provide an actual rsync or ssh host on the phone (which would also let me use wifi). Or..1/

I would strongly recommend #Mastodon team consider building this feature.
I have some generic, wide-ranging hashtags (#Music, #Python) - Most of this is noise to me, but occasionally I find great people I want to follow.
Most of the time, I'd like to JUST see a feed of the people I'm following - without seeing all the cruft.
Currently, that seems difficult, without explicitly adding everyone I follow to a list - tedious. Make sense?

#NewRule – if you write an app or service that uses a #directory to save important files, and you generate #errors in your logs about the files in said directory, but don't document what, if anything the user can do about it, that folder needs to have a `README.txt` or `.dirinfo` or something that explains what each of the files mean.. or what files should or shouldn't be there.

Unfortunately, the pope has a lot of power as has any cardinal or high level scientology gurus who take confessions from high power and influential people.
Even if they keep their oat of silence to the particulars of the confessions, they still give informed sermons , write dogma that people of faith take to heart more than non-believers would like to.

A few weeks ago I wrote about the (then) upcoming #LSO #Law #Society of #Ontario #Bencher election. How there was the Bencher Good Governance Coalition, who want to be *good* lawyers and promote EDI and outreach and inclusion and stuff.
vs. the Stop-SOP anti-woke, anti-EDI crew who hate being told they can't be racist -phobes.
Well, TL;DR - the good guys won. #EDI #woke goodness is back on the menu in Ontario legal circles. But the Stoppers are still scheming.

There is a vicious battle going on in #Ontario #legal circles that no one (who isn't a #lawyer) knows about. The "We want to be better lawyers and humans" Bencher Good Governance Coalition vs. the Stop SOP team. aka "Team Racist Sexist Hatephobe Dickholes".
If you know a lawyer or paralegal in Ontario remind them to vote in their bencher election. Voting ends Friday! Don't let the Dickhole lawyers win again!

@tezoatlipoca that's probably the best way of using it right now, as a private music collection online - like an alternative to Google Drive or Play Music. But I digress.
I have been considering making a defederated #Funkwhale and #crowdfunding the fees necessary to pay for what is known as a #TONO license.
In essence I'd be making my own private streaming service, like a record store down the street.
I'd probably make nothing off it, but hey: maybe I could steal customers from #Spotify.

@tezoatlipoca Ford is an authoritarian. His own government report says removing bike lanes will make car traffic worse but he's still forcing it through and stoking his manufactured culture war of "bikes vs cars".
Others who oppose #Bill212 include: UofT, Ontario Traffic Council, Ontario Society of Professional Engineers, CEOs of Mount Sinai and Sick Kids hospitals, 120 ER room doctors, Association of Municipalities of Ontario, the Bloor Street BIA, etc, etc.

Big problem in #selfhosting is making sure you've set things up right: #dns resolution, #ports, rev/ #proxy. _Sometimes_ its helpful to query _from the outside_ of your local network.
`canuseeme` - a single binary #webservice that will query the URI you give it and see if its reachable by randos/services on the internet. A bit like a #webproxy, but can exercise it programmatically, and not limited to HTTP/S ports.
